About
Welcome, and thank you for stopping by!
I hope you’ll enjoy my blog, and in the meantime, I’ll provide you with some information about me and how everything started…
This is me
…as you might have guessed, trying desperately to get any decent photographs out of my humble camera.
And it shows me during one of my travels, which is my favorite natural antidepressant.
Since I was a child, I’ve always loved traveling. Being half German, half Turkish, traveling has been to me a natural state of mind. Going on adventures and seeing something new is still one of the things that make me truly happy.
Just in case you already wish this would never end, go here to get some more unsolicited information about me.

Paul Klee, Without Title, a. 1892
It all began with Paul Klee
Some years ago, when I was looking into the works of Paul Klee, I stumbled upon this little butterfly. I’d already come to appreciate Paul Klee as an artist, due to the variety of his skills, his humor (take a look at his drawings) and because it seems to be a worthwhile occupation to try to decipher his paintings.
I felt immediately attracted to this little drawing. There is something touching about it, its simplicity maybe, or how this butterfly is placed on this huge piece of paper.
I quickly adopted it, and Klees’ butterfly became my emblem and name throughout my social media appearances.
What finally brought me to TravelBlogging
During my travels, I have increasingly enjoyed taking photographs. So initially, I was looking for a platform to share my travel photography.
But when I published my first posts here on WordPress, I quickly realized that only posting the photographs without any stories isn’t enough. I wanted to tell what I had seen and experienced at my travel destinations.
And I wanted to get in touch with other travelers, either on my blog or theirs.
I hope I can get across some of the excitement and joy that I feel while traveling, and that you can enjoy my posts as much as I do writing them.
Take care, KleesButterfly
I am joining in to see more of the photographs and read the stories along with it. 🙂

Really glad that I found your site. Your photos of the places you’ve visited are beautiful, and I really appreciate the amount of work that you put into each post. The maps are great as well – I’m considering adding maps to my own posts, as I think visitors to a new place are often a bit intimidated about how best to find things. That’s especially true if it involves public transportation, like subways, trains, or buses. I look forward to reading more of your posts in the future!
Best,
Susan

Thank you for your nice comment, and sorry for my late response. I’m currently taking a break from blogging, but I’m planning to relaunch my blog (as self-hosted this time) in fall this year.
I’m happy that you liked my posts, and I hope you’ll enjoy them in the future too.
